Mindful Meanderings

Riana Turns One

Riana turned one today. Hard to imagine that it’s already been a year. Read all about it on my post on Riana’s site.

A Milestone Reached

My daughter had her one month checkup with the doctor and has grown 1 inch in length and to a healthy 8 lbs. 13 oz. in weight.

The doctors and we, needless to say, are very happy with the positive growth Riana has made in just a month. I should up posting some more pictures of her shortly. Once I get Gallery and my web host to behave properly, I’ll start posting some videos of her.

Ultrasound Pictures

Riana_Ultrasound-11.JPG As we head towards the homestretch of my wife’s pregnancy, we decided to get some 3D ultrasound images taken of our baby. We’d had an opportunity to see some 3D images of her at about 20 weeks, but it is nothing compared to what she looks like now.

As part of the package we got a bunch of nice 3D pictures and a 40 min DVD of her quite active and interesting movements. This technology is quite amazing and gives us a very nice glimpse of her appearance while still in the womb.

Another, approximately, 8 to 10 weeks and we’ll know for certain who exactly she looks like. :)

Happy New Year

Well, 2006 is almost over. It was a good year for me personally and professionally. One of the top notes being was finding out that I was going to be a father early next year. We are very excited to welcome our first child into the world. There are many milestones throughout ones life and this is a big one for me along with turning 30 next year. :)

I’m not very big on resolutions as I seldom seem to keep any of them past a few weeks into the new year, so I’ve decided instead to just enjoy whatever comes my way next year with all the gusto that I can muster.

Amongst the great happenings that I’m looking forward to next year is, of course, the birth of our child and my cousin’s marriage.

So here’s wishing all of you a very happy and prosperous 2007!

Cheers

Twins Apart

“We were joking when I was pregnant about what if one baby looked like me and one looked like Michael? We joked about one light one, one dark one, so it was amazing when it actually happened.” #

Fraternal twins usually share many similarities, even if less so than identical twins, but this sort of basic difference is quite interesting.

The Day Has Arrived

Today is the day that we find out whether we are having a boy or girl. Geeta, needless to say, has been anxiously waiting for this day to arrive for quite a while. She naturally has the inability to be kept in dark about anything for long, and to have survived until now without knowing about this big a surprise is an amazing feat no doubt.

Amongst many decisions that are impending; baby naming comes to mind, people ask why we want to know the sex of the baby. I don’t think we see not knowing as necessarily any more fun than just knowing that we are having a boy or girl. I think it would be nice to refer to the baby as him or her rather than “it”. :)

Also, I imagine that knowing the sex will allow us to focus on things that only affect one sex, clothes, name and so on.

Oh the fun!

The suspense continues..

Turns out that our baby was being very uncooperative today. So though we could tell that it seemed completely healthy, there was little else we could tell.
It’s a Girl!

We had to visit a non-diagnostic ultrasound place, but we found out that we’re expecting a little girl. :)
