Ohio Voters Scare Me

This video is from a rally Sarah Palin had in Ohio and listening to the voters express their opinions of why they would not vote for Obama but rather McCain/Palin is absolutely scary. It isn’t the fact that they are bigoted, religious fanatics that see the “Lord’s glow” in Palin, but they are so completely detached from reality. I don’t admonish voting for a particular candidate you agree with their policies, but voting for John McCain just because you think Obama is anti-white, or he’s a Muslim, or the fact that his name is indeed Barack Obama and not some clean-cut Anglo-Christian name is downright outrageous.

Libby Pays the Fine

The “hardship” placed on Scooter Libby by the judicial system just got a lot lighter after he paid the $250,400 fine. OK, since President Bush already commuted the prison sentence, that leaves the 2 years of probation. Handling Saddam

U.S. forces had no role in Saddam Hussein’s hanging, but would have handled it differently, a U.S. general said

If U.S forces where in charge of the execution of Saddam Hussein, there might have been less taunting and so on. But are we truly to believe that not even a single U.S. soldier would take a cheap shot at Saddam in his waning moments?

Need we remember the Abu Ghraib fiasco, the Haditha killings, or the countless videos I’ve seen portraying the random “justice” that frustrated U.S. soldiers are taking out on unarmed civilians?

Even if the U.S. would have handled the Hussein execution with a lot of civility, what purpose does it serve to criticize the way the Iraqis handled it? Especially when we’ve been involved in some questionable offenses ourselves?

Cheers
