Welcome to Mindful Meanderings - October 20, 2006 -

Welcome to the new incarnation of my blog. When I initially launched it, I was unsure as to the style or the content of it which lead to a variety of posts ranging from technology to just random news I found interesting. Now, after a year or so I’ve begun to formulate an idea of what I would want to blog about.

That being said, I decided to make a fresh start; not only in content, but also in the visual presentation of the blog. To that end, let me detail some of the changes that have taken place and upcoming direction of the content.

Name

Some of you might wonder about the name of the blog. I’ve decided to keep the domain the same, but just give the blog a name.

1. A circuitous journey or excursion; ramble. Often used in the plural.
2. To follow a winding and turning course

I often find myself with thoughts that often meander in very random directions before getting to any place concrete, but I hope to make more sense online.

Theme

For starters, I’m using K2 as the foundation for my theme. K2 provides the means of using various styles to further customize the site, so changing colors and shades should be easy as pie. If you wish to comment on article, there is now the option of selecting a portion of the article and commenting only on that portion. In addition, you can also comment on any previous comments by quoting that author.

Another feature of the commenting system is subscription which allows you to keep aprised of any updates that you might be interested in reading and further commenting on.

Content

Beyond just the cosmetic changes, what matters in a blog is the content of course. You will find that I have started out fresh by removing all the old content, but fret not those posts are still accessible under archive.ashwinbihari.com.

People who know me would consider me a person with many opinions, but seldom do most of those opinions appear on my blog and I find that a blog should be an impression of the writer. To that end, I hope to take more time to write meaningful articles that stimulate thought and discussion. I am a fairly opininated person and whether you agree with me or not, I am always open to listening to other views on a given subject.
